Galaxy S24You're preaching to the choir. That “promise of better battery life” with each One UI update has become a bit of a running joke in the community. And you're absolutely right—a 1.5-year-old battery should still be performing well, especially if it hasn’t been through extreme charge cycles or heat exposure.
:battery: What’s Happening with One UI 8?
Samsung is currently testing One UI 8, and early internal builds show notable improvements in battery efficiency, especially on the Galaxy S25 series. The June 2025 security patch already hinted at better power management, and the upcoming stable release is expected to bring:
- Software-level optimizations that reduce background drain
- Improved system fluency and responsiveness
- Expanded features like Audio Eraser across stock apps
That said, some beta testers on Galaxy S24 Ultra are still reporting no noticeable gains in battery life—so it’s a mixed bag depending on the device and build.
🧠 Why It Feels Like a Chore
Samsung’s layered ecosystem means users often have to:
- Manually disable or restrict background services
- Tweak battery settings across multiple menus
- Monitor rogue apps that don’t show up in usage stats
It’s a lot of legwork for something that should be seamless. Hopefully, One UI 8 will finally shift the burden off the user and onto smarter system-level management.

Galaxy S24Recently updated to new update on June 27th. Update S928U1. Ever since then my phone is barely pushing 3 hours on screen on time. It sometimes doesnt even make it to lunch if im using it in the morning. I have never experienced such horrible battery performance with my s24u. This phone is supposed to be a "flagship". What is going on??? I even reset the cache. Is my battery cooked?

Galaxy S24Bro I have doing everything I can to fix battery usage. My battery was fine before the S928U1 update and is completely in the dumpster after S928U1 since June 27th. This is completely unacceptable
