I updated to one UI7 last night and now my battery while on idle is draining extremely fast.

Had I known this would be an issue I would have never updated to this crappy software.

This is a major issue and like I said I can notice the extreme battery drain while the phone is idle.

If Samsung doesn't fix this issue I will be filing a claim as to me this is now a defective item that they caused.

After the latest "update" last week the battery drain has returned. Things had gotten better but they pushed another update out and it's back to being horrible. Battery has gone from 100% to 55 in less than 4 hours and no app showing anything higher than 10% usage. Samsung needs to get their act together.

Are you referring to the June Security update towarss the end of June (for most), or the Google Play Systems update.
I am currently on June for both, but went to go see if there is a new update just now. There is a Google Play update that may have been out there for a while.
Now I am wondering if I should hit the download for GP?1752015452614.jpg1752015452629.jpg

I got my Samsung update July 4th. I'm assuming it was June but who knows.

Go to settings and software update. You will see when you installed the last update and what the update was. 1752065635413.jpg

It would be really good if Samsung would address the battery drain and efficiency, rather then the user jumping through hoops and minimizing services. Here is what MS Copilot had to say about battery usage this morning. I sent the same screen shot as posting here.

Me:

5% battery usage in 55 minutes and 30 minutes of SOT. Seems high to me?

Copilot:

You're not imagining things—5% battery drain in under an hour with 30 minutes of screen-on time (SOT) is on the higher side, especially if your usage was light or moderate. Here's a breakdown of what might be going on:

🔍 What’s Normal?
- Typical drain rate for modern Android devices is around 0.5–1% per 10 minutes of SOT under light usage.
- That means 30 minutes of SOT should ideally cost 1.5–3%, not 5%.

📱 Possible Causes of Higher Drain
- Background activity: Apps like Vivint, Amazon Shopping, and Samsung Members may be running background processes.
- Screen brightness: High brightness or adaptive brightness can spike battery usage.
- Network activity: If Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or mobile data were active, they can contribute to drain.
- Battery health: If your battery is aging or has degraded, it may discharge faster than expected.

🛠️ What You Can Try
- Enable battery saver mode during light use.
- Limit background activity for non-essential apps.
- Lower screen brightness or switch to dark mode.
- Use tools like GSam Battery Monitor to pinpoint which apps or services are draining power.

If this pattern continues even with minimal usage, it might be worth checking your battery health or considering a calibration cycle. Want help setting up a battery monitoring routine or optimizing your settings?1752068882297.jpg
