I updated to one UI7 last night and now my battery while on idle is draining extremely fast.

Had I known this would be an issue I would have never updated to this crappy software.

This is a major issue and like I said I can notice the extreme battery drain while the phone is idle.

If Samsung doesn't fix this issue I will be filing a claim as to me this is now a defective item that they caused.

Regarding phone about phone battery information, the battery status shows fast charging even when the device is fully charged—what could be the reason for this? The learning usage patterns have remained in device care since October 2024 and have not disappeared. Additionally, the charger turns on and off despite being brand-new. Is it necessary to perform a factory reset and set up the phone manually without using Samsung Smart Switch?

Ok. So, first thing you should do is run a diagnostic on the battery, the cable charging and the wireless charging.  The diagnostics can be found in the device care settings.

Next you should wipe the phone's cache partition per the instructions below:

1. Power off your phone. Hold Power and vol up buttons until Samsung Logo appears

2. Let go of both buttons when you see the Samsung Logo appear on screen. There will be a delay while it enters recovery mode.

3. Use the volume buttons to navigate through recovery menu options and highlight “Wipe Cache Partition.” Press power button to select this option. Confirm by navigating to the yes response and tapping the power button to select.

5. When wiping cache partition is complete, "reboot system now" should be highlighted; press power key to select it. The phone will reboot as normal.

After the phone completely finishes the reboot after unlocking, try the charging again and see if the results are the same.

Go to settings/battery and turn on battery protection - choose one of the three methods of protection.  For most people "Basic" is fine.

Go to device care and turn on auto optimization and set a day and time for automatic reboot of the phone.  To run optimally, the phones need to be periodically rebooted and setting it on auto saves you from having to remember to do it.

If none of this helps, put in an error report with Samsung.  Error reporting can be found in the support tab of the members app. Select send feedback, choose your device and submit your description of the issue and upload the phone logs.  If the phone is still under warranty, if found defective, your friend can have it repaired by Samsung.

Yeah you're going to have to factory reset that.... Make sure you sign out of all accounts first while you're in there May as well wipe the cash partition.... Do a reset from recovery

They do not have to factory reset unless the steps I outlined do not work. Resets are always last resort, not first option unless one is so impatient that they want to go nuclear and just try to solve everything at once.

Hey You give great advice. I'm not taking nothing away from that. The reason I jumped into wiping partition and factory reset. This is because the partition is good as you know, to be done after updates. Anyways, in a factory reset is probably a more easy d. I. Y for a novice or regular user....😊
