Google Voice app notifications not working for SMS and missed calls

Hi. After the last update from Verizon(security patches) on my S24+, I stopped receiving notifications from the Google Voice app about SMS and calls. I have tried to reinstall the app, reset all notifications, but nothing works. My wife is on S21 running Android 15 and has the same Google Voice app version, and it is working fine. 

Does anyone have Google Voice and notifications working?

You would need to contact Google Voice in the Play Store; they probably need to update the app to work with your phone.

Did you read that GV app working on my wife's s21? She has the same GV app version as me. So it is not GV issue.

You have different phones running different OS versions, perhaps the update you recently installed on your device broke something that Google needs to patch to work with your device.

Why, oh, why do they always want to blame Samsung first when the issue is with an app from another company?  Error reports should be put in with both companies so that they can either blame each other or fix the issue - whoever is at fault.

Most people want to blame the device in their hand, rather than the app, not realizing there is a handshake for an app to work. If one hand is broken due to an update it is usually the app developer that has to patch the app. This being Google it could come in the form of a Play System update.

Do you have a solution or have you tried it on your device or you are just want to post? It works on other devices including Samsung previous version of android, and it was working before the last security update.

I have tried it on my device. I just installed Google Voice on my S25U running Ui8/Android 16 with the November security patch I just installed today. The only problem I had was getting the text code in Google Messages. It was going to the Spam and Blocked folder. Put in the code, asked a couple of my contacts to send me a text and they showed up in Google Messages and Google Voice app. Where are the messages not showing up?

The app is from Google. I do not understand why people can't read the whole post. My wife's Samsung S21 works. It also works on my Pixel 6 running Android 16. So yeah. I will blame the last update from Samsung, because it was working before the last security patch.

I do not think you have read it. btw, I installed GV on my work Pixel 6 and it works as expected. So the common denominator is Samsung UI8 running Android 16.
