Weather Apps Breaking

The pre-installed weather app no longer works, as I do not have a Samsung phone. And now the Google Weather app that I downloaded no longer can retrieve data either. So neither of these apps works. Is this because Samsung and Google have decided that they don't want their services to function properly with each other's?

No, it's not likely Samsung and Google are intentionally blocking each other; it's a common software glitch, often fixed by checking Location Permissions, clearing app cache/data, updating apps/phone, or even just restarting, especially since Google's standalone weather app is being phased out for Search integration, meaning you're probably dealing with permission issues or app conflicts on your Pixel 6 with a Galaxy Watch, rather than a corporate feud.

Because Google is shifting to a Search-based weather experience, try using the Google search bar for weather directly if the app is problematic.

The weather app should work on your watch regardless of whether you have it paired with a Samsung phone or not.  The watch and phone app are independent of each other.  I have been able to use the weather app on watches that were not paired with any phone at all.  Have you cleared the watch's cache partition after your migration to  your new phone?

This looks to be a legacy app issue. AA wrote about this: https://www.androidauthority.com/wear-os-6-google-weather-app-3597171/

This is embarrassing for Samsung. This has happened to a lot of people with the default Galaxy Watch weather app.

Samsung needs to fix it!

Actually, people need to do proper housekeeping and maintenance before demanding that Samsung fix something.

Why are so many people having issues with it (as I cited above)? The software should not have this problem.

I already cleared my watch's cache partition (even though I didn't migrate to a new phone).

It shouldn't be like this.

Define "so many". This is only the first post I've seen on the issue. The weather app for the watch is standalone app and should work regardless if a watch is connected to the phone. If it was a problem with the app itself, there would be very many more complaints about it and it wouldn't work for anyone. It works fine for me - and it is most certainly not the same weather app I use on my phone.

I already cited the complaints of others that have the same problem. Here's even more recent posts related to the issue:

Sometimes bugs affect a certain subset of users, not necessarily every single person. I don't see how your post is helping us solve this issue at all.

This is not reddit. If you want to get Samsung's attention to fix it, you and all the rest will have to put in an error report. You are also not required to use either Google's or Samsung's weather app, so you are free to choose another that works for you.
