The icon on the home screen of the phone app should be removed. All you have to do is have the phone an inch away from your face and the screen comes back on and your cheek pushes the button. Samsung has violated people's privacy and won't remove it I doubt I'll be buying any more Samsung phones because of this
If the phone is an inch away from your face, how is your cheek hitting it? There is also such a thing as speakerphone, earbuds, headphones, returning to the home screen; any number of things to keep from accidentally activating the recorder. Violating your privacy? Be real. Violating privacy would be to record with no announcement made. At least there's an announcement to let you know you activated it and let the other party know. All one has to do is say, "oops sorry, I'll turn off the recorder" and go on with their conversation. Admittedly, the recording button is not in the most ideal of positions (once upon a time it was on the keypad proper), but it baffles me how people are activating the recording with their cheek and not any other phone panel control such as hanging up or turning on speaker.

I want this call recording off my phone. I accidentally touch my cheek to the phone and it turns it on and people freak out. This is terrible for my business and personal calls. How do you remove it from the call screen.
I absolutely HATE this feature! Samsung needs to make an option to remove it completely. While it is not set to auto record how do I know the calls aren't being recorded and stored somewhere not visible. I am in Healthcare Compliance and this is a deal breaker for me.
You know it's not recording because it's not beeping every several minutes to remind you the recording is on, and you did not get an announcement that the call is being recorded. Your phone is not secretly recording your phone conversations. If you are in healthcare purchase a phone without a recording feature for when you are at work. You know the phones are always listening to you anyway, right? How else do you think that if you mention wanting to buy a new chair, all of a sudden your browser and social media ads are for furniture?

This is so frustrating. After the update my phone is automatically recording my calls. Alot of my clients are upset thinking why am I doing this? I am NOT and why I cannot toggle off or opt out??? This is an invasion of privacy. Why fixed something that wasn't broken. Don't apple my android. I was happy as it was. Now, I have to learn my phone all over again. FRUSTRATING!!!!!!
AND the battery life it's draining super fast ughhh..
People have been begging for years for call recording capability. Now they have it. Granted, they put the recording icon in the wrong place, but it does not auto record. You actually have to tap the record icon, so if your calls are being automatically recorded, you are hitting the button somehow. If you put the phone to your ear, your cheek may hit the button before the proximity sensor activates. All you have to do is say, "sorry" and turn it off. If people question why you are recording, you have several responses: 1) oops, it was an accident, I'll turn it off, 2) for my protection and/or memory issues, 3) because I want to.
