Galaxy S24Many users have reported serious battery drain problems after upgrading to One UI 7: What could be happening? Here are some ways to reduce idle battery drain:
Why One UI 7 Could be draining your battery
Background processing: This update may have caused system apps or third-party applications to run more frequently in the background.
Battery Optimization Reset: Certain settings (like app sleep or restricted background use) may have been reset.
Badly optimized software It is possible that the firmware has bugs which cause unnecessary CPU wakeups or sync issues.
System caching & reindexing After major updates the phone may take up to 24 hours to complete background optimizations.
What you can do right now
Restart Your Device - Simple but can stop buggy background process
Check Battery Use: Navigate to . Identify any apps that drain battery in an abnormal way.
Put apps that are not in use to sleep : Use the "Put Apps to Sleep" and "Deep Sleep" options under Battery Settings.
Clear cache partition for Samsung phones
Switch off your mobile phone.
Hold Volume Up + Bixby + Power (if available) and wait until you see the Samsung logo.
Select Wipe Cache Partition using the volume keys.
Reboot.
Update apps: Minor updates are released to fix some battery issues after the One UI release.
Disable Location, Always On Display or 5G if needed.
Still Not Fixed?
If battery drain persists after several days or, even after you have tried the fixes:
Report it via Samsung Members app: Include system logs.
If you think that the hardware has been affected by the update, visit a Samsung service centre.
You can request a rollback, although it is not supported everywhere.
You are right to be frustrated. Battery drain when the phone is idle is not acceptable, especially after an update. If this was caused by a faulty OTA, Samsung must take responsibility. Backup your device in case you need to perform a service or factory reset.

Galaxy S24Does anyone else have the problem of every time the phones update they seem to have worse battery life. I took my phone off the charger at 530am. Sent 4 text and by 630 was at 93 percent. Each update seems to do something to the battery to make it less valuable. I don't understand and its very upsetting. I have to use my phone for work everyday and my battery is at 30 percent by 3pm. This is nuts.
