I updated to one UI7 last night and now my battery while on idle is draining extremely fast.

Had I known this would be an issue I would have never updated to this crappy software.

This is a major issue and like I said I can notice the extreme battery drain while the phone is idle.

If Samsung doesn't fix this issue I will be filing a claim as to me this is now a defective item that they caused.

Things to do!

After every software update, perform a wipe cache partition.

Make sure Google Play System is always update.

Make sure all apps are updated, especially Google apps, they have been updating apps a couple of times a week lately.

On device, turn on Performance Light in device care.

Display settings turn on FHD, instead of QHD. QHD us kind of a waste of battery on a small screen.
Tablet yes, phone no.

All of these things were things we did not have to do in the past, this is an internal bug causing the s24 to drain faster. This is samsungs fault

With all due respect,
Google is have major problems with there apps draining battery's.

I do know what I am talking about.
I have not had any battery issues on my S25U.

I do everything that I listed in my comment, I am still getting 7-8 of SoT with about 35-40% left at the end of the day.

You actually do not have to do it now, it has always been *recommended* maintenance for all electronic devices.  Update, clear the cache of any leftover temp and junk files that can interfere.  Simple reboot once a week for optimization and also to clear out junk in the memory. Just because you didn't know about it or didn't do it, doesn't mean you shouldn't have.  As phones got more sophisticated and updates more complex, it became more necessary to perform these functions.

Clearing the cache does nothing for the battery.
I have the same problem.

Check your battery usage statistics and see which apps are using the most battery resources, then check how much of that is background rather than actual usage activity.  Make sure the worst offenders are optimized for battery usage or restricted or put to sleep.

Clearing the cache will help some with battery drain, as leftover bits and temp files trying to perform functions will use battery resources.  Won't help as much as making sure your apps are optimized or sleeping.  Sleeping apps are still usable, they just won't go crawling around in the background.
