Galaxy S24OneDrive app will not open and is causing Samsung Account app to crash.
I have cleared partition cache.
Uninstalled updates and disabled app. I am unable to uninstall the app completely. If I leave it disabled, Samsung Account app stops crashing. If I reenable it, Samsung app crashes.
I can log into OneDrive through browser. Samsung Files app not syncing either.
This issue is NOT occurring on my Samsung Tab S9 FE only on my S24 Ultra

Galaxy S24Thank you user above for this fix, worked for me also!!
Go to the app permissions for onedrive and samsung account.
Change the permissions for contacts to allow in both apps.
I did this and it fixed the problem.

Galaxy S24Seems that's being forced by both Microsoft and Samsung to access everyone's contacts. Allowing access is not a fix as it was working before without this permission. Unless it's a shady practice from both the companies to get more data from the users on their AI model training.

Galaxy S24OneDrive and the Samsung account use contacts access for quick share.
Seriously, do you think that apps that require access to your contacts are going in the background and making prank calls?

Galaxy S24If you think data mining doesn't/can't happen just by virtue of the fact that your contacts are on your phone, there's a bridge in Brooklyn for sale. Besides, every website you visit, every app you use mines data in some way. If permissions are asked for from an app (most especially essential apps for your device), ask yourself if it's reasonable. It is if you intend to share things, email people, message people. You never share anything out of your OneDrive? Did you give Facebook access to your contacts so that you can find people? That's far, far worse than sharing with OneDrive, or your Samsung account.
if you are so worried about data mining, you really shouldn't be using electronic devices.
That it didn't happen before is irrelevant, obviously the OneDrive app was updated to require the permission. Complain to Microsoft about it, it's their app.

Galaxy S24For the record, I have OneUI8.0 and the latest version of one drive and the Samsung app. This phenomenon is not happening for me and contacts access is not a required permission for either app. So, now that you have it working, try rescinding the permission and see if the condition replicates. Then put in an error report.
