Number in upper right hand corner

My Galaxy s24 updated overnight, and now there is a number in a circle appearing in the upper right hand corner of the home screen. I would like to get rid of it, but I'm not sure what it is indicating? It's the "93" on this screenshot.

I have that 80% charging turned on, too, which used to be identified somehow on the little battery.  No I just have this fat oval which could be anything at all in the world.  I wish it was a pill that I could take to make the pain of this update go away.

I don't like this fat oval things either and am here to find out how to turn it off.  I'd like the battery information back the way it was, I'd also like the time and date widget back the way it was.  How come a system update has to come with all these un-necessary and unwanted cosmetic changes?  Why don't they realise that some users spend ages getting the look and feel of their equipment just the way they want it and become entirely familiar with their own user environment and don't want these changes.
