I updated to one UI7 last night and now my battery while on idle is draining extremely fast.

Had I known this would be an issue I would have never updated to this crappy software.

This is a major issue and like I said I can notice the extreme battery drain while the phone is idle.

If Samsung doesn't fix this issue I will be filing a claim as to me this is now a defective item that they caused.

Even I'm facing the same issue after the One UI 7 software update; it's draining profusely and not even lasting for a few hours.

Every 2 hours, I need to charge my Samsung galaxy S24 ultra so badly it's draining.

I regret installing the One UI update.

Samsung needs to fix this immediately in the next security patch.

Really disappointed

I’m facing the same issue after the One UI 7 update — the idle battery drain is noticeably worse. Hopefully Samsung pushes a quick fix because this update has really affected battery performance.

I’m also noticing the S24 battery drain after the update. It seems many users are reporting the same issue, so hopefully a patch fix comes soon. Until then, tweaking background apps and adaptive battery helps a bit. Happens to me even while playing games like bussimulatorid .com, so it's definitely update-related.

I updated my S24 FE about a month ago, and ever since then the overall performance has gone downhill. The battery life has become terrible — it barely lasts 2 hours of continuous usage, even with Power Saving Mode turned on.

The overnight drain is also huge, dropping from 30% to 10% in just 4 hours, even when the phone is idle.

Apart from the battery issues, the phone has become noticeably slow and laggy, and I’ve also seen reduced network connectivity after the One UI 8 update.

Is anyone else facing the same issues? Any fixes or suggestions would be really helpful.

Thanks!

I made this post because of the battery drain many people were experiencing after the One UI 7 update. You may find some helpful info:

I got the update about 10 days ago. I noticed the phone waa warm in my hand.. and then on the weekend it started randomly rebooting especially when I tried to charge it. Sunday evening the battery had swollen and pushed the back open. Aside from that the phone is in pristine condition- Ive kept it in a case with a premium screen protector somce day 1.

Monday I went to an authorized service center and was told that because the case was open and the representative could see condensation in the camera lens, the failure would not be warrantable. The phone just reached 9 months old. I installed a replacement battery and the phone works, but today I noticed two separate reboots where it looked as though One UI was finishing an update.

Going to have to try Google phones next, this S24 has just set a new record for least reliable phone I've owned.

This is more if a complaint and a rant but 🤷‍♂️

The title isnt lying. I plug my phone in at 6% turn it up side down to leave it on my desk, pick it back up immediately to check something and the screen was showing a frozen T Mobile pink shutdown screen with the text frozen unexpanded.
Eventually unfroze and shut down, held power and it showed the dead/charging emblem and then immediately displayed 2%(on a slow charger too)

Not sure what happened or why my phone decided to hybernate. Havnt had this problem since my base s21... anyway, oh well woopty doo

Give me One UI 8.5 now please

Nah for real I have the s24+ I put that on the extreme battery saver limiting the home screen and everything died in like 2 minutes I was like hold up what the I had a s9+ that would be on ultra maximum power saving mode and it would be at 0 percent for as long as I had it on extreme power saving mode but now power saving mode on the s24+ is like terrible
