Tapping lockscreen clock prevents unlock

Is anyone having issue with tapping the lock screen clock and being prevented from entering your password or using your fingerprint to unlock? 

To produce this issue, tap the lock screen clock and it will expand it to show the clock with seconds. This completely blocks any touch screen input so there is no way to input the password pin or fingerprint when the clock is expanded. The only way to get out is to press the side button to close the screen or wait like 10 seconds for it to time out. 

I've tried to disabling hold and touch on the lock screen settings and disabling roaming clock but that has no effect on this behavior on the clock lock screen.

Do you use navigation buttons? Because I have no problem using a back gesture to return to the lockscreen.

Why are they tapping on the click itself? I only tap on the clock when I need to see seconds. To the best of my knowledge it has always been this way.

No I use swipe gestures but I just tried back swipe from left edge and it worked! Button edge swipe up doesn't work though.

They are using the 3 swipe up gestures with hints turned i eas just going to tell you with swipe gestures with the hints turned off you don't get the bar it still works though.

Interesting. Edge swipe is Google's standard implementation. Bottom swipe up is Samsung's, which is only available through Good Lock. Kinda weird that it's not active unless the device is unlocked.

When you have gesture hints turned off you won't see the bar or button if you are using that antiquated method.

I have a little bar in the bottom right that I swipe up on to go back when the clock is expanded

I just use the back swipe gesture, no need for a bar.
