S24 Battery Drain Post-Update

I updated to one UI7 last night and now my battery while on idle is draining extremely fast. 

Had I known this would be an issue I would have never updated to this crappy software. 

This is a major issue and like I said I can notice the extreme battery drain while the phone is idle.

If Samsung doesn't fix this issue I will be filing a claim as to me this is now a defective item that they caused.

Seems like their hope is that we get used to it. I have a week passed already - nothing much changed. The cache reset helped a bit, but still it is not even close to whatever it was before the update.

Btw anyone knows if we can return phone back to tmobile because of such update? It is not usable

I guarantee you that you are using your phone more since the update, as there are many things to adjust and get used to.  Not to mention that the phone itself is performing app updates and adjustments in the background.  You may not feel like you are using it more, but you are.  I'm also guessing the Now Bar uses some power, so if you don't need/want it, turn it off.

I downloaded Andriod 15 based One Ui 7, on the release day... my battery had been fine... then I download the security update "S928USQU4BYD9" that was released just after that, then my battery life has been draining since. I went from charging my phone over night to over night and sometime throughout the day. Anyone have a fix? Or should I reach out to Samsung?

I have the same issue with my Galaxy fold 6. Used to go the whole day until I installed the one UI 7 update. Now I find myself charging at least onee time and usually 2 more times during the day. Usage has been the same, so I have to assume the battery issue is related to the update.

Have you cleared the device cache? It's always advisable after a software update. Directions can be found here (item 2):

Also, it can take 10-14 days for the phone to relearn your usage patterns and for the battery to settle in. Give it some time.

I clear cache daily with device maintenance.  My battery isn't draining fast but it takes FOR **bleep**G EVER to charge!! 

No one has time for 1-2 hour charge time in the middle of the day!  

I've never heard of the 10-14 days for a battery to "learn usage".  Is that really a thing?

If you use a higher wattage power brick your phone will charge faster.
