Galaxy S24You may have downloaded an app, malicious or otherwise, that is continuously downloading files to your device in the background. Are you able to see the downloaded files in your file manager? That may or may not be able to help you identify the source.
You could try booting into Safe Mode to see if the issue persists. If the issue resolves in safe mode, a third party app is the culprit and you will need to identify that app so you can delete it. If it doesn't resolve, there may be a deeper issue.
Assuming the issue resolves in safe mode, start by uninstalling any questionable apps. anything that isn't from a well-known, reputable developer.
If you are unable to locate the culprit, you may need to attempt a factory reset.

Galaxy S24If there are files there, it may help you identify which app is causing this.

Galaxy S24I would be suspicious of any app that serves to circumvent paid features. Apps of this kind often offer some kind of utility and do what they say they do, but also hide unsavory/malicious things underneath.
Personally, I would recommend deleting that particular app, as well as any others that are not from reputable devs such as Samsung, Google, Microsoft, etc. until your issue is resolved.

Galaxy S24As I said in another comment, this issue seems to have started not long after my phone got the One UI 8 update, which happened for me on 09/28/25.

Galaxy S24☆ Follow Samsung’s Best Practices Guide
In particular, clearing device cache is an important practice in order to clean up junk files and keep things running smooth.
See the guide here: https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Tips-Tricks/Best-Practices-After-an-Update/ba-p/3200871?src=Shar...
☆ Use Samsung’s Good Guardians
Download Good Guardians and run its various modules. These modules optimize performance and can identify unusual behavior.
Download Good Guardians here: https://apps.samsung.com/appquery/appDetail.as?appId=com.android.samsung.utilityapp
Additionally, Galaxy phones have an adaptive battery feature that uses machine learning to optimize battery consumption based on your usage.
After a major software update, this feature resets and needs to relearn your usage patterns. You may notice diminished battery life for a week or so while this process takes place.
The increased battery consumption may or may not be related to downloads associated with the update.
At any rate, I would still recommend deleting any questionable apps from independent or unknown developers until the issue is resolved.
