Apps Disappearing from Recent Apps Screen After One UI 8 Update

After updating my Galaxy S24 Ultra to One UI 8 (Android 16), I've noticed that some apps occasionally disappear from the Recent Apps screen, even though they are still running in the background.

For example, if I open the Amazon app and then exit it, it sometimes doesn't appear in the Recents view, but when I open it again from the home screen, it resumes exactly where I left off.

This happens with multiple apps, not just Amazon. If I go to the app settings and force stop the app, then open it again, it appears normally in the Recents screen - but later, the issue comes back.

So the app stays active in memory, but it's not shown visually in the Recent Apps list.

I think it might actually be related to the recommended apps feature. I noticed just now that it's happening consistently with every app that shows up on the recommended icons down in the bottom. Apps not down there still show as cards, apps with icons down on the bottom disappear every time. Unfortunately turning off recommended apps doesn't change the behavior.

I don’t think it has anything to do with that — I don’t have that option enabled because I prefer a cleaner interface, and the same thing has happened anyway… I just went out to take the screenshot, and the “Members” app itself disappeared — what a mess.

If I read 2rCmLuH's comment right, the observed behavior link to recommended apps occurs regardless if the feature is enabled or not. Also, I have not seen the feature recommend an already opened app on my phone, which does not have this problem.

Even when I disabled that feature it was the same 4 apps that had been in the recommended list that would disappear from recents. So having it off doesn't help, but I think it might still be making that recommended list behind the scenes, so having it off doesn't help it just hides that those are the apps being affected. 

It's very consistent that it's the 4 showing up recommended for me are the 4 that won't show in recents even after recommendations are off.

I activated the function, and at least on my device it has nothing to do with the 4 applications that appear below, even those 4 apps appear normally and without problems among the recent applications

Are you using the Nptistar GoodLock feature??

Because if you are sometimes to cause conflictions I would if you are disable that first clear cache don't re-enable it and see if that fixes the problem

Yes, same problem on my phone.. S24 Ultra - Version: ....4CYI7  ... example:  I open Google Maps, Calculator - when I switch from Maps to Calculator, after 2-3mins, Maps are "killed" ... didnt change settings on the phone in last 6 months
