Abnormal battery drain

I'm experiencing abnormal battery drain courtesy of "downloads" and.I can't figure out why this is going on.

Anyone have ideas as to potential solutions?

One UI 8 is fine on my phone. The adaptive battery will have to relearn how you use your phone. See the "best practices after an update" post for tips. Make sure you clear the device cache.

For me personally, UI8 has substantially improved my battery life over UI7 after the initial relearning period for the adaptive battery.

In addition to follow the best practices guide, it is recommended to use Good Guardians to re-optimize your apps after an update.

Pretty good, although I'm using a GS23 Ultra that's 2.5 years old. I wipe the cache Partition using the bootloader menu after every update as well.

Well we all know us (Samsung) loyalists can never get a full package. So this recent update One UI 8.0 finally fixed how the phone processes photos. Because my trick was to actually screen shot my camera before I hit shoot. Reason: it was perfect but as soon as I hit the shooter and it goes to gallery it does that thinking symbol and does this process and bam the photo looks crazy and whipped. So this new update did fix that. (Oh yes I even tried to disable and all that funny stuff in settings so save the comments about settings); BUT and yes there is a "BUT" as you ever had that; never able to itch spot that is nagging, its that killing of the good effort that was put into something that was a problem (camera) and off setted it with - Now its the battery (drainage)! Like big time. Who else is having this serious issue after the update? I have tried clearing the partition cashe, to a full hard reset. Nothing seems to fix the battery drainage after this new update. So Samsung can we get an update for this as well not to fix the fix as they say.

Try using a camera alternative like Open Camera or disabling intelligent shot optimization.
