That sounds awful! Sometimes when this noise happens, it's because the washer/dryer is overloaded. If you've made sure it's not overloaded and tried with a smaller load and it still happens, the unit will require service. You can reach out to any of the mods via private message with a link to this thread and your unit's model code and serial number to get service set up.
