Hi, I was taking a screen recording on my Samsung S7 FE tablet of a call with my parents, revealing my pregnancy to them. It recorded for a couple of minutes and then stopped without me noticing (due to a low battery alert). Is there any way I can find what was recorded before it stopped? I'm absolutely devastated as I will never have this moment again and it's a precious recording. Please tell me if there is anything I can do to retrieve this recording

Look in your settings for screen recordings and see where you set the storage location. If you didn't change it, the default would be the DCIM folder/screen recordings. It should also appear in your gallery. Since it auto stopped due to low battery before completion, it may or may not have been saved. If it saved, that's where it would be.

I've checked all possible folders and it hasn't saved anywhere from what I can find :'( thank you for your advice though,  would there be any other possible things I could try?

I’m so sorry to hear this happened during such a precious moment. Don’t lose hope just yet—here are a few steps you can take to check if the recording is recoverable:

  1. Check the Gallery/Files App: The screen recording may have saved automatically up to the point it stopped. Look in the "Screen Recordings" folder in your Gallery or File Manager.

  2. Temporary Files: Some recordings might be saved as temporary files before being finalized. Use a file explorer app to search for incomplete or hidden files in the screen recording directory.

  3. Third-Party Recovery Tools: If the file isn’t visible, consider using trusted data recovery software or apps that specialize in retrieving lost or unsaved files from Android devices.

  4. Samsung Cloud or Google Drive: If auto-backup is enabled, check if a partial recording was uploaded to Samsung Cloud or Google Drive.

  5. Consult Samsung Support: Reach out to Samsung Support for assistance. They might offer advanced solutions depending on the circumstances.

I hope you’re able to recover the recording. Even if it’s just a part of the moment, it will still be a beautiful memory to cherish.
