Smart Tag not tracking

New Smart Tag- just updated- in a van that is on the road,  but it is still showing as in the drive. Phone is on Ultra wide band.  Have searched and searched for a solution, but nothing seems to work.

If I go to locate, it says it is nearby, and when I walk around it gets to around 5ft away,  which is right in the middle of my living room, then never gets any closer according to the app.

The driver of the van has a samsung phone as well, so should be easy to track.  How can I fix this

Having this same problem too. One of my Smarttags2 no longer wants to connect after the firmware update, and I won't be updating my others until a fix is potentially found

@joelealanis Hmm, I have updated the firmware on 3 SmartTags2 with no issues. I did make sure that the battery level was good before doing the update.

You would probably need to contact Samsung support. Usually theres not much you can do if there is a failure during a firmware update.

Its battery level was 'Sufficient' as I've only had them for a month or two. I'll try updating a second one, and if that gives me the same problem, I'll resort to Samsung support. Thanks for your reply!

@eiphos Is this a SmartTag2 or one of the original SmartTags?

Still don't have a solution!  put another tag in the van - it showed as located by another device 50 yards down the road , now its showing as being in the drive, and its miles away. Driver has a Samsung phone.  Any help to solve this would be appreciated.  I have 2 of them in suit cases, so want to make sure they all work before going away.  They are all smart tag 2, followed all instructions when they were opened, and they all seemed to be working, as showing nearby, but now they never seem to move from here, even when they do.

@eiphos Does the driver have permissions enabled for other devices to connect? Does the driver have location permission enabled on their device?

Also havng the same issue with two smarttag2 that were purchased under a month ago. They were working fine till the latest firmware update. Now they just stay at "Connecting..." but never actually connect. I've tried resetting the tags, clearing the cache on the phone and reinstalling the app. Using Samsung Galaxy A54
