is anybody having problems with the health app not syncing after the latest update? I have never had an issue until now. it shows my last sync on 09/24 at 11:13 pm. I checked and the last app update was exactly that day.

Samsung Apps and ServicesClearing the data in the health app should not interfere with any data in the app. The data that is removed, is the customization options, like which notifications to you want, which tiles appear on the app home screen and other customizations. If you are unable to manually sync, make sure you have a current backup of your phone (just in case) and go ahead and clear the app data.

Samsung Apps and ServicesI just manually synced it, and it shows the correct date. Took about 10 seconds. I never noticed it didn't sync, because when I open my app it specifically says it's syncing and then my data appears. Now it could just be what they mean by syncing is that it is syncing the data between my watch and phone rather than the cloud. As long as you have your nightly auto backups, though, you should not lose any data, because it is all contained in the backup and you can selectively restore the health app data. I do regularly clear my phone's cache partition, which could be why I had no issue with the manual sync - no temporary files to interfere. Do you have your sync set to wi-fi only or both over wi-fi and mobile?

Samsung Apps and ServicesSamsung health shows as selected in my cloud backup. I'm going to keep an eye on the sync process to see if my manual sync kick started the automatic process. I guess I feel the sync doesn't really matter if the data is getting backed up in the auto backup.

Samsung Apps and ServicesNo. that's the Samsung backup. Go to your Samsung account on the phone, tap on Samsung cloud, and then you will see all the items you can select for backup. If you choose "restore", you can see what was backed up and you can selectively restore anything contained in the backup.
Here's what I figured out, though. I went back to the health app to check the sync, and I saw the date reverted to Sept 23. I resynced and the date and time changed to current. I think that the data actually is syncing, but it's not retaining the date of the last sync.
