is anybody having problems with the health app not syncing after the latest update? I have never had an issue until now. it shows my last sync on 09/24 at 11:13 pm. I checked and the last app update was exactly that day.

I have tried the following:
restart phone
clear cache
force stop app
toggle sync off and on
clear partition on boot
tap "sync now" in settings (just spins forever)
contacted online chat (told me to text 1800Samsung and say what I need help with (health app) and the problem...
texted 1800Samsung with the requested info and they passed me around a bit then kept telling me to text 1800Samsung because it wasn't the right group.... yes, your read that correctly
1800Samsung texted me to tell me to text 1800Samsung.

I think the only thing I haven't done is clear data, which I don't want to do because anything not synced would be deleted. they also suggested I do a factory reset if my phone, which seems a little extreme for a bug they introduced

Clearing the data in the  health app should not interfere with any data in the app.  The data that is removed, is the customization options, like which notifications to you want, which tiles appear on the app home screen and other customizations. If you are unable to manually sync, make sure you have a current backup of your phone (just in case) and go ahead and clear the app data.

hey, thanks. I did try that "sync now" option but it just never finishes. and when I eventually close it out it shows at 9/24 being the last sync. also, notice that your's is 9/23. are you able to force sync now?

I just manually synced it, and it shows the correct date.  Took about 10 seconds.  I never noticed it didn't sync, because when I open my app it specifically says it's syncing and then my data appears.  Now it could just be what they mean by syncing is that it is syncing the data between my watch and phone rather than the cloud.  As long as you have your nightly auto backups, though, you should not lose any data, because it is all contained in the backup and you can selectively restore the health app data.  I do regularly clear my phone's cache partition, which could be why I had no issue with the manual sync - no temporary files to interfere.  Do you  have your sync set to wi-fi only or both over wi-fi and mobile?

I see. yeah mine is just to my account, not a watch. I also found out in researching this that health is no longer part of the cloud backup, but a separate sync process (not sure the difference, but its not available in the apps that you can select to backup to the cloud). My sync had been on Wi-Fi only, but I changed it to Wi-Fi or mobile yesterday to troubleshoot

Samsung health shows as selected in my cloud backup.  I'm going to keep an eye on the sync process to see if my manual sync kick started the automatic process. I guess I feel the sync doesn't really matter if the data is getting backed up in the auto backup.

No. that's the Samsung backup.  Go to your Samsung account on the phone, tap on Samsung cloud,  and then you will see all the items you can select for backup.  If you choose "restore", you can see what was backed up and you can selectively restore anything contained in the backup.

Here's what I figured out, though.  I went back to the health app to check the sync, and I saw the date reverted to Sept 23.  I resynced and the date and time changed to current.  I think that the data actually is syncing, but it's not retaining the date of the last sync.

oh wow. I will see if I can confirm that mine is syncing too. hopefully that's the case. it's really not that big of a deal if not, but just kind of annoying that I couldn't get it working. thank you for taking the time to look into this. I will keep poking around and update if I find anything or fix it. thanks again

I had the same issue with the last sync around the same date as you described. Check to see that you have granted consent to sharing your heath data in the settings. Mine were all switched off. I turned on the first option only and it immediately synced again.
