I have a Q6FN (2018) model which is 2 days old. Last night I was in the settings adjusting the picture for the first time and today when the television was turned on, the Home button on the remote doesn't do anything. Light flashes red on the remote, no menus, no app bar, no nothing. Can't change inputs with the remote, settings or really anything important at all.

I researched it a bit and have tried the following so far: I unplugged the television while off, waited and then plugged it in. Power it up (with the remote) and still nothing. Repeated that process a few times. I have also re-synced the remote (hold Play / Back simultaneously for 3 seconds). It re-syncs successfully, still nothing. All the other buttons on the remote function normal, even the "long" press function of home works which brings up the remote assistance reference number. Short press of Home to access pretty much anything important is the culprit.

Other solutions I've read involve accessing settings to reset the Smart Hub etc. which is of course impossible because I can't get to the settings in the first place.

A little side note for flavor: 7 months ago I got a full refund on a Samsung KS8500 which had 4 repairs in a single YEAR, under warranty. After battling Samsung. I SWORE I would never buy another Samsung product and sat on the money until 2 days ago where after a lot of research I decided to take the leap...give them a second chance. It has the features I want (gaming). It looks great, price isn't bad. My frustration level is well beyond 9000. You know what they say, "fool me once".

I second the request for an actual solution to this issue.  I have done everything requested in the forums so far with no solution.  Cold boot, as stated above did not resolve the issue.  Resetting the Samsung Hub through the setting menu did not resolve the issue.  I have reset, changed batteries, plugged in and unplugged, re-signed into everything - still no resolution.  I asked customer support if they could just send me the latest update and I got the response, "We have no information regarding the newest update. Unfortunately, we cannot send this out prior to its release on Samsung.com"

How do I make sure that Samsung is aware of having this issue prior to my factory warranty expiring in the next couple months?  As there is no timeframe for a fix, I would expect there is some way to have it noted that there is an issue.

I have a TV, Washer, and Dryer now from Samsung and each item has at least 1 issue that I am getting Warranty work done currently - it's not looking very promising moving forward.

I've tried both suggested methods as well, with no change.

Bought the TV yesterday. Does anyone knows how many TV's is this problem affecting ? Should I order a replacement or just send it back and buy a Sony?

Had this TV since September of last year. Turned on tv today and remote is behaving the same as everyone else on here. This seriously cannot be this hard to resolve Samsung... It's becoming apparent that you do not test your stuff before you release it and expect patience from customers as free beta testers. I think you should be paying us to test your releases for you.

@usernWc0vgaX1n I think Samsung's answer based on their inability to push out working firmware and products is "yes send it back and get a Sony because Sony > Samsung". I think launching a campaign to remind users and Samsung of how "great" Samsung products really are is in order.

This did not work for me. I have tried everything suggested in this forum.  This is ridiculous!   This need to be resolved NOW.  If the 1209.3 firmware is correcting the issue, then for goodness sake, provide me a link to where I can download it please!
