Home TheaterI'm really curious how Samsung is going to solve this problem without there being a type of recall of these devices. I can't see how the company manages to update these devices that are not connected for connection. So far I am very disappointed with Samsung, I hope we have a happy ending.

Home Theatermy BD-J5700 is also cycling. With or without a dvd, The DVD box says no disk. The next box over, photos?, is highlighted. That screen pops up for a second and then is goes back to blank HDM1 screen.
The drawer will open if I use the remote, but closes soon after opening. The drawer will not open using the button on the box. The power button doesn't do anytning. Other than the drawer button, I Haven't found that any of the other buttons on the remote do anything.

Home TheaterThink you need to remove this as it is misleading, you have not Solved or given us the solution, but only now accepted that there is an issue, with your latest firmware update.
@The BOSS lady wrote:We are aware of customers who have reported an issue with boot loops on some Blu-Ray players and we are looking into this further. We will post an update here on this thread when we have more information.

Home TheaterIs there a way to get Samsung to send us an email when this is resolved so I don't have to check back every day?

Home TheaterFor what it is worth, my BD-J5100 is still running. A second similar model in the family is a looper. Curiously my reported SW version is 1021.0. The Samsung web reports the current version as 1020.1. A few days ago I checked for a SW update and the player responded no internet connection. Not true - Netflix ran fine. Now it reports I have the latest software. I doubt this is a certificate issue as some speculate - that should be an easy fix, renew the certificate. Power cycles and factory resets are not working, but the hardware generally gets to display the home screen before looping, so not likely to be a failed part/hardware problem. So I am guessing the problem is in the firmware. Likely there is some reset/boot firmware (like the PC BIOS) that launches the main code but for some reason, restarts the boot process. If firmware is the problem Samsung has a big issue since it would require a shop visit and that requires a lot of planning and logistics (service bulletins, replacement parts, perhaps a PROM programmer, payment considerations, etc.) which could explain the delay. Samsung clearly has a lot to do if it wants to control damage to its brand, this is an international problem.

Home TheaterNo shop visit nonsense required - simple download of firmware and follow USB upgrade process....
