Galaxy WatchHave you ever cleared the cache partition on your watch? There may not be enough temp space for the update to copy. Did you fill up your watch with apps or music?
You might have to reset your watch and try downloading and installing again, then restoring your watch backup.
If your watch storage is full, the update has no room to swap files .

Galaxy WatchYes, watch updates have to be downloaded directly to the watch, not the phone. Phone and watch updates are very different, and each one unique to the type of device. How on earth did you originally download an watch update to your phone?

Galaxy WatchUsually when you update from the wear app, the download starts on the watch (you usually see a message to the effect of "check your watch" or "download will begin on your watch shortly"). It does not download to the phone first. The only time software downloads to the phone would be if the wear app or watch manager was being updated.
