No SPO2

Last evening I recharged my Watch7 and updated 5 watch apps, one of which was Samsung Health. This morning I tried to get a SPO2 reading, something I do every morning. No soap - and was instructed by the watch to move the watch further up my arm. Again, no soap, even after 6 iterations. I mused that I could put it around my neck if it would fit, but it likely still wouldn't read SPO2.

Has anyone encountered this and determined a real fix? I'd rather not go buck-nutty on my watch that has otherwise been working pretty well for the past several months. Thanks.

Maybe try restarting the Watch and see what happens after

I'm with @MatthewReiter sometimes after even simple app updates, it's best to restart the watch just to make sure everything is in place.  You can also try wiping the watch's cache partition (especially if you've never done it) in case there are leftover temp files mucking things up, although any in memory should get cleared out with a reboot.  If none of that works, put in an error report within 15 minutes of the reading attempt.

Thanks guys. I wanted to avoid the cache clear, which I anticipated, as the watch has been working so very smooth for the past 3 months. But, I'll try the restart first.

Clearing the cache does not wipe your data, only the factory reset option does

My belief is that a cache clear for watches should be done at least quarterly and after every OS/UI/security update.  Monthly won't hurt it, but weekly restarts and restarts after updates should keep things running smoothly.

The restart was a non-starter. The cache clearer may have corrected the problem, but I suspect it was an undocumented built in instruction that walked you through the measurement. The app did not work asit had in the past, but there were instructions for watch placement on wrist, elbow on table and closeness to heart that never appeared before further confusing the process. Anyway thanks again guys. Things are always a'changing with these watches aren't they!? The procedure for cache clearing changed a bit too under 1Ui8.

The procedure for cache clearing on the watch actually changed with OneUI6.0.  You likely didn't notice because you hadn't had to clear the cache.

Well, that's odd. I got the 1UI8 update ~2 weeks ago, and had been running under 1UI6 for many months, but the difference I noticed was under 1UI8. I noticed something new was afoot. I had wiped my cache and my wife's cache at least 5x per watch since we moved to 1UI6. Today when I wiped the cache on my watch today it seemed distinctly different. Mostly in the fact that I had to select Recovery and not hammer the top button repeatedly to bring up the the menu where I would select the wipe cache option. I've done the cache he wiping often enough to recognize a change in procedure. No biggie, but somewhat of a surprise.
