I've tried using Smart Switch several times to move my text messages from my S24 Ultra (on the One UI 7 beta) to my S25 Ultra, and every time Messages is always greyed out. See the attached screenshot. I've tried clearing cache and data on both phones for Smart Switch, and still happens with either wireless or with a USBC cable. Rebooting also didn't help. Has anyone else encountered this and gotten around it? Thank you.

This didn't work for me. I had the same issue and backing up to Samsung cloud made it worse. I backed up my S22 to Samsung cloud and then downloaded that backup and lost even more messages. Been on the phone with Samsung or texting them all day and it seems like its just going to be a problem for everyone. Literally they told me to wait because the phone comes out February 7th. I guess their tech support is going to wait until the hundreds of users having this issue turns into thousands or millions and then do something about it. I don't know.

I had this same problem with messages going from s24 to s25 and I solved it. I made this video to show how to fix it - https://youtu.be/qUBt5qd2dQY

Basically the problem is due to having Google messages and samsung messages app. You need to make sure both messages app are enabled and working.

This worked great.  However, I had the ability to click on the messages icon while doing the transfer, but tried this and it worked!  Thanks!

Thanks all, I ended up using SMS Import / Export from FDroid. That worked great for me.

Djab203's solution solved my issue.  I was able to check the messages icon during my transfer setup, it showed content, and showed it was transferring, even tried transferring just the messages, and it wouldn't work until I followed what he described in his video, thanks!
