I've been an avid Samsung user for many years, and just upgraded from the s24 ultra to the s25 ultra. The s25 is playing the same notification sound for every single app. For example, my WhatsApp, ring doorbell, text messages, Facebook, Gmail, etc all make the same alert sound and there's no way to make the app play their default sounds. I spoke with 2 different Samsung employees on chat and they both told me it was not possible and they have no record of notification issues. So, I proceed to drive to an authorized repair shop and they told me its a Samsung software issue and my best bet is to return the phone until Samsung fixes their issue.

Anyone else having this issue? Any idea when a much needed software update will be released?

So what's the solution? I just read this entire thread because I'm having the exact same problem. It definitely has something to do with Samsung Smart (dumb) Switch. Probably going from Android 14 to 15. I just want to get back to the default notification sounds for each app. This is beyond annoying.

Why is nobody understanding what the problem is? I used Smart Switch to go from an S23 Ultra to S25 Ultra. Used to be every app had its own proprietary notification sound.... Snapchat had a noise and ESPN had it's unique noise, etc, etc... And we've all gotten used to these sounds. And we never had to set that up. That's just the way it was. Well, now, ALL THE NOTIFICATION SOUNDS ARE THE SAME. Same noise for everything. No way to distinguish what notification you're getting based on the message sound. Been working on this for hours. Scouring the internet. Nobody has a viable solution. Can somebody please help?

Is there a fix for this yet ? The option to pick the apps unique sound isn't  available to choose from the list of possible sounds. Kind of wishing I hadn't switched brands now...
