Haven't gotten an update since I've bought my S24 ultra from Amazon

So I had gotten this phone back in February and I haven't gotten any updates since then, stuck at UI 6.1 ! My phones unlocked and I've had service since then so I should've gotten updates but still no dice... any ideas as to why?

Also! My model number ends with U ... that does mean that the phones unlocked right? Meaning it should've gotten an update by now, should be on UI 7

A U1 device is factory unlocked and not tied to any specific carrier, while a U device is a carrier-locked US variant.

A model name ending in U means it is a carrier device. It could be carrier locked or carrier unlocked. But, as @realaud mentioned, it is not a factory unlocked device.

Your phone may be unlocked now, but it was originally locked to a carrier. You will need to get a SIM (active or not) from the original carrier or connect your phone to a computer with the computer version of Smart Switch to get the update.

That's possible? I thought it was juss one app called smart switch?

Smart Switch has a computer version. If you have a Windows computer, you download it from the Windows store. Once you install it, you can then connect your phone and use it to back up your phone and look for updates on Samsung's server, rather than your carrier server.
