S24 Ultra Updates concern purchased from Amazon restore

My new to me,24 ultra still has one ui 7 and most recent security update says June 1 2025.

Is this normal? It is a Amazon re- store, that is in excellent condition. Or am I worrying to soon and updates will be coming

I use a visable sim card

Even though Visable runs on Verizon networks, your device was a Verizon carrier device. It is trying to look on Verizon's servers for updates.

Your choices are, return the device, switch to Verizon, get a prepaid Verizon SIM and stick it your phone ( you will have to do this for the life of the device. Go to either a Best Buy Geek Squad or an Samsung authorized service center and have the device flashed to remove the carrier firmware and turn it into a factory unlocked locked device or lastly look on YouTube to do it yourself if you are technically savvy.

The service provider information shows that the phone was previously locked to Verizon. Even though you have a Visible SIM, the phone is still looking for updates from Verizon's servers. That's why you haven't been able to get any updates.

You have two options:

1. Temporarily borrow a Verizon SIM from a friend to download updates. Make sure you're on WiFi. The phone only needs to recognize the Verizon SIM.

2. Take the phone to an authorized service center to have unlocked firmware flashed to it. This will essentially make it a factory unlocked device and you won't have this problem in the future. See this link to find a service center near you:

As @Muibar has ask we thi k that because you bought your phone from Amazon renewed what is probably why you can't get updates is the phone has the pervious carrier software on it, if your SIM is from a different carrier you won't be able to update your device until the previous carriers software has been removed.

It said it was unlocked. I found some info to try and this is what I found.

It is carrier unlocked, not factory unlocked.
