Galaxy S23Companies exist for the primary purpose of making money. It would be a very odd move for any company to devote additional time and resources to further support a device if they never promised it and don't have to.
Your device will continue receiving major updates into 2027. If you want to continue using the device after that, you can, and that speaks to the quality of the device.

Galaxy S23The S23 series is more than capable of receiving the latest updates at 7 years of OS updates, since the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy (arguably the best processor ever made by Qualcom in history provided for Samsung) is estimated to be capable to run updates smoothly until Android 19-20, before it comes at a point when it's finally going to start heating up heavily.

Galaxy S23Sorry, but Samsung is not going to extend support beyond what was initially promised. S23U buyers were aware of how long they were promised updates when they purchased the device and will receive exactly what was promised.

Galaxy S23I love how everyone who does not want to upgrade their phone is an expert on a phone's capabilities. As you said, capability does not mean they should or would extend their update policy. As we used to say in grade school, it's just tough noogies. They also act as if their phones are going to magically stop working because there's no OS or security updates forthcoming.

Galaxy S23They are not going to grandfather the extended support into older phones. You phone was purchased under their previously existing update policy. New phones, regardless of your perceived inferiority of them, will still get the 7 years under the new policy.

"Hello Samsung,
I am a Galaxy S23 Ultra owner. This phone was your flagship just last year and sold at a very high price. It is really disappointing that it only gets 4 major Android updates and 5 years of security patches, while the Galaxy S24 series โ only one year newer โ gets 7 years of full support.
For fairness and to maintain customer trust, we as S23 users strongly expect Samsung to extend the 7-year update policy to the Galaxy S23 series as well. The hardware is more than capable of handling it. Please take this request seriously.
