The S23 series is more than capable of receiving the latest updates at 7 years of OS updates, since the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy (arguably the best processor ever made by Qualcom in history provided for Samsung) is estimated to be capable to run updates smoothly until Android 19-20, before it comes at a point when it's finally going to start heating up heavily.

Capability ≠ profitability

Sorry, but Samsung is not going to extend support beyond what was initially promised. S23U buyers were aware of how long they were promised updates when they purchased the device and will receive exactly what was promised.

I love how everyone who does not want to upgrade their phone is an expert on a phone's capabilities.  As you said, capability does not mean they should or would extend their update policy.  As we used to say in grade school, it's just tough noogies.  They also act as if their phones are going to magically stop working because there's no OS or security updates forthcoming.

They are not going to grandfather the extended support into older phones.  You phone was purchased under their previously existing update policy.  New phones, regardless of your perceived inferiority of them, will still get the 7 years under the new policy.

"Hello Samsung,
I am a Galaxy S23 Ultra owner. This phone was your flagship just last year and sold at a very high price. It is really disappointing that it only gets 4 major Android updates and 5 years of security patches, while the Galaxy S24 series — only one year newer — gets 7 years of full support.
For fairness and to maintain customer trust, we as S23 users strongly expect Samsung to extend the 7-year update policy to the Galaxy S23 series as well. The hardware is more than capable of handling it. Please take this request seriously.

Why? If Samsung changes their update policy between models, that is their right to do so. Where do you expect it to end - why not extend it to the S22s & 21s? Why not support every model forever? There was a time there were no updates offered for any model, then only 2 years of updates for the longest time, necessitating purchasing a new phone every two years if one wanted the newest Android version. Samsung now leads the industry with the longest update schedule, and was even the leader when they went to 4 years. IMO, with the rapid changes in technology a 4 year old phone is outdated anyway, even if it still works perfectly. New software may not properly mesh with old hardware.

You use of the word "we" is odd - are you the spokesperson for ALL S23 owners? Are you an expert on phone technology that you can categorically state that the hardware "can handle it"?  You don't know what is yet to come in updates, and cannot state what the hardware can handle.
