Increase S23 Ultra's support to 7 years!!!!

I bought two S23 Ultras from Samsung last fall because of photo capabilities & Samsung's intent on keeping the S23 S24 & S25 all on the same page support wise. I gotta go dig in order to site...but i really hope that you are not right.

Yeah, probably, but I still won't choose any comment below as a solution. Because I mean even thought I just ordered the S24,   and will return the S23 for a refund, the solution for many people's problem isn't clear yet, I started this suggestion because my other friends suggested me themselves to try and ask Samsung if they would be interested in this suggestion. Though to remind everyone, like I said they already did something like that for the S21, when the community pushed Samsung to add one more year to the three year promise for the S21, and they did, so the S21 is still today usable because it will still get security patches until the end of this year

Samsung isn't the bad guy towards our device's longevity of support...it is our communications providers that force us into non-compliance for increased revenue. We have the right to use that 25yr old indestructible kyocera..that ultra-reliable nokia or even that bagged motorola with hands free setup & 2G signal amplifier with thru-the-glass external antenna. You just gotta sign the waivers within the provider's policy of non-diclosure in public awareness. But if you desire options & latest advancements, you gotta fully support capitalism. Our oldschool G's 12&3 never went anywhere but out of the limelight to make room for 4 & 5. As all will be compatible with our most current devices. Once you understand these facts of avoidable options, the compliance is much easier to swallow. Being able to make a phonecall 20miles from the nearest thing with a heartbeat is purdy cool. But chucking a billion dollar personal device across the room over $1.99 dispute could still be considered disgusting.

Yeah, I do understand, a suggestion remains a suggestion, it's for my friend that uses the S23, and is a bit sad about the short longevity of the device, because his budget is a bit low at 290$ right now. I returned my S23 and ordered the S24. Best decision of my life, I'm not doing this over myself for a better user experience, but for my friends and other people who have the same problem. Not even software updates, they just want security patches so their phones won't get hacked or something like that. Thanks, pal!

Sorry, I wouldn't expect Samsung to further extend software support for aging devices. S23U is still a great and capable device, but it is also approaching 3 years in age.

Companies exist for the primary purpose of making money. It would be a very odd move for any company to devote additional time and resources to further support a device if they never promised it and don't have to.

Your device will continue receiving major updates into 2027. If you want to continue using the device after that, you can, and that speaks to the quality of the device.
