Hi All

Im at my wits end after updating my phone to One UI 7 and its driving me up the wall. Contacting Samsung is pointless as they just ask me to reset my settings and didnt solve this issue.

After updating to One UI 7 i am unable to set my network mode anymore. it just says Couldn't change network mode.

Anyone having this same error?

Again your logic IS flawed. You had a problem with your device that was not caused by Samsung, including the update, nor was it caused by your carrier. That is ALL your new update proves, yet you fail to see that. You logic was also flawed when you stated that your partner had the same device, bought at the same place, and using the same carrier, where is the logic when it worked for them and not for you?

You had a problem with the third party software on your device, or a corrupt setting, which was cleared when you factory reset. We advised against that as we did not want you to loose data, and quite honestly did not have all the details on what was wrong. We found out about your partners device bit by bit.

Well, I have read and I see many whys but no definitive solutions. How do we bypass the carriers locking us out of our ability to control our network settings? If locked to 5g automatically reverts to 4 or 3 g why am I having so much down time.7n my rural area. Never switches, just buffer for 20 minutes. 4g is much better in this area with about 1/10 buffering of 5g network, but it doesn't switch automatically. It would rather tell me "no network available." Anyone out there have a solution that doesn't require full blown backup and factory settings to be restored. I dont want to do this everytime the carrier forces.me to download unwanted updates. My phone goes to a full te screen telling me update and phone can't be used until I update. **bleep** talk about controlling the masses and what they can/can't do. Slowly steeling our freedom of choice and we.just say "oh well, what can you do?" Seems like another training process to me. 🙃 Ahhh! What do I know, I only have an Associates of Science degree from a technical college.

Also, last time I checked , these carriers are not paying our phone bills. Want to explain why they are controlling someone's options that a phone that they have purchased already provides. That's like me buying a car but the dealership coming to my house, taking the audio system 6 months later. What's being done can't be legal in this regard.

If you have a carrier locked phone, they have the right to change or limit settings.  It's part and parcel of the agreement you signed with them in exchange for the lower pricing (or free device).  If you do not want your carrier to control any aspect of your device, buy unlocked phones, but then you still have to deal with the TOS of both Google and whichever device manufacturer you have; including the right to modify the OS/UI software any time and in any way they want.

hi, old thread I know. adding myself to the issues if this can help smn one day, personally, on my Canadian S23+ unlocked, every so often, ill lose the ability to change network mode with the same error, or select network operators..only the last one id used work. I can confirm it works in other phones and works after like 3days or so. resetting network settings, airplane mode, disabling the sim, removing the sim, nothing fixed it. sm-s916w

it happens since one ui 7 and still happens in oneui 8 now. pissy annoying when I'm a person that needs to mess with networks ops alot. having to band lock lte isn't ideal.
