Galaxy S23Hi All
Im at my wits end after updating my phone to One UI 7 and its driving me up the wall. Contacting Samsung is pointless as they just ask me to reset my settings and didnt solve this issue.
After updating to One UI 7 i am unable to set my network mode anymore. it just says Couldn't change network mode.
Anyone having this same error?

Galaxy S23Relax. Dude. It's just a question. And I'm posting here just to see if there is a other user who have the same issue as me. Not to ignore your logic or truth. I had tried putting my sim card in my partner's phone who is also S23 Ultra. Running OneUI 7. Not sure why that phone can change the network mode. So I'm very puzzled why my phone cannot change. It's the same hardware with the same software. Thus in theory it should work.

Galaxy S23I guess my absurd logic works this time then @usermzeJaY3BsM I reset my phone and it started working. so kindly explain regarding network locks that caused me this issue? is it a software bug? or is it network sim card lock then in this case?

Galaxy S23It's ok. I'll do a factory reset on my device and see if it can work again. If it works again probably it's due to some misconfiguration somewhere.

Galaxy S23How can you be so sure my partner phone is factory unlocked? I was the one who bought that 2 phones from the same Samsung store. There shouldn't have any difference for both phones!

Galaxy S23And we knew this how?
I was operating on assumption, based on the lack of this information prior.

Galaxy S23Hi All.
As expected, I Did a one time cloud backup onto Smart Switch and did a factory reset on my phone, now the network mode selection works already. thus your suggestions @usermzeJaY3BsM @realaud @GaryB82 is invalid.
The only way to get the network mode selection 5G, 4G, 3G preferred on phones recently upgraded to One UI 7 is to do a full backup and then a factory reset to get the menu to work again, Thus my conclusion is this error is due to a software bug or process that caused the menu for network selection to fail to work.
Thank You!!

Galaxy S23Wow, such a need to be proven right. Of course a reset will fix errors in a bad install. No one said that it was definitive that your carrier disabled the settings, only that they are wont to do that and some carriers are KNOWN to do that. That your issue got resolved with a reset, does not mean there was a bug in the software, just a bug glitch in the install. If the software itself was buggy, it wouldn't work even with the reset, because it would be bad software. Something in your phone configuration/apps interfered with proper placement of all the components of a very complex update. When you factory reset your phone, you have a whole new, from scratch, operating system installed. Even doing a "full backup" does not save the operating system, only your apps, settings and personal files; so restoring your backup would not overwrite the new OS. So, Mazel Tov on getting your settings back.
