Galaxy S23tried all the usual suspects, bluetooth is on, the laptop shows in available devices on phone, windows device info has its bluetooth captioned with "now discoverable as, its the same name shown on the phone available devices, after trying to pair for about 10 sec, it comes back with "couldn't pair", any suggestions?
the phone also has problems pairing and then not connecting after pairing with bluetooth adapters for car, 2 different adapters, tried.
other wise phone bluetooth seems ok, paired with sony radio boombox, and multiple ear buds and speakers
how to have Samsung determine if phone is defective?

Galaxy S23I find that my phone shows up as a data transfer device when using link to Windows. I never tried linking via BT, and doesn't show up in my BT connection list on the computer, but it shows up in Windows explorer and I can transfer files between my devices. Perhaps you need to connect via LTW. It does not show up as a device on my windows 10 computer, even when connected by LTW, as it has no BT adapter. So, I'm guessing the BT pairing happens with LTW.

Galaxy S23thanks, I'll check out LTW, but the real question is why a 2023 samsung phone can't connect via blue tooth to windows 10 and 11 pc's? I'm looking for an answer to that question.
I want to play s23 ultra songs and other mp3 files thru the windows external speak sound system. As far a sharing files between the phone and windows I would use a more flexible and robust cloud based file sharing app
