Galaxy S23

Hi,

I came across an issue today as I am unable to transfer a couple of movie files to my Samsung Galaxy phone. I have a Windows 10 PC without WiFi module so I can use the wirelessly option to send files from PC to my phone.

What is the fastest way to transfer large files from PC to Samsung Galaxy phone? The movie files are more than 30GB.

P.S. I am trying to use the Google Android File Transfer app but is no longer available.

Thanks

USB cable is the simplest and fastest way to transfer large files from PC to Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. There is how to do that:

  1. Use a USB-C cable to connect your Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra to your PC. And swipe down on your phone to access the notifications panel.
  2. You should see a notification for "USB for file transfer" or "Charging this device via USB." Tap on it.
  3. Choose "File Transfer" or "Media Transfer Protocol (MTP)."
  4. On your PC,  download and install TunesBro DroidGeeker and move to the Files tab at the left.
  5. Navigate to the folder where you want to transfer the files (like the "Movies" or "Downloads" folder).
  6. Select the movie files from your PC into this folder. Once the transfer is complete, right-click on the phone icon in File Explorer and choose "Eject" to safely disconnect.

First, make sure there are enough free space on your Samsung Galaxy phone. After that, connect the phone to PC via USB drive. You will see the phone name from Windows File Explorer.

Next, click the device name and copy all movies to the DCIM folder of Galaxy S23. However, it will take longer time and you should be patient.

This is the best way I can think up to transfer large files from PC to Samsung Galaxy phone.

For transferring large files (like movie files over 30GB) from your Windows 10 PC to your Samsung Galaxy S23, there are several methods you can use. Since the Google Android File Transfer app is no longer available, here are alternative options that are efficient and reliable:

1. USB Cable (Direct Connection via File Explorer)

The fastest and most straightforward method for transferring large files is using a USB cable. This allows you to transfer files directly from your PC to your phone without relying on any internet connection. Follow these steps:

Step 1: Connect your Samsung Galaxy S23 to your Windows PC using a USB-C cable.

Step 2: Ensure your phone is set to File Transfer mode (USB mode). You should see a notification on your phone asking if you want to Allow file transfer.

Step 3: On your PC, open File Explorer and navigate to your phone's storage, which should show up as a connected device.

Step 4: Drag and drop the movie files from your PC to the desired folder on your phone.

Pros: Fast transfer speed, reliable. Cons: Requires a cable and direct connection.

2. Samsung Smart Switch

Samsung Smart Switch is a tool that can be used to transfer large files, including movies, between a PC and your Samsung phone. This is a good alternative for file transfer, even though it's primarily designed for backup and phone migration.

Step 1: Install Samsung Smart Switch on your PC from the official website.

Step 2: Connect your Samsung Galaxy S23 to the PC using a USB cable.

Step 3: Open Smart Switch and choose the Send Files option.

Step 4: Select the movie files from your PC and transfer them to your phone.

Pros: Designed for Samsung devices, easy to use. Cons: Slightly slower than direct file transfer in some cases.

3. Use a MicroSD Card (if your phone has a slot)

If your Samsung Galaxy S23 has a microSD card slot, you can use it as an intermediary for transferring large files:

Step 1: Insert a microSD card into your phone.

Step 2: Use a card reader to connect the microSD card to your Windows PC.

Step 3: Copy the movie files to the microSD card.

Step 4: Once the transfer is complete, insert the microSD card back into your Samsung Galaxy S23 and access the files.

Pros: No need for a USB cable, good for large files. Cons: Requires a microSD card and card reader.

4. File Transfer via FTP (Wireless Method)

If you prefer a wireless method but your PC doesnā€™t have a Wi-Fi module, you can use a USB-to-Ethernet adapter or a mobile hotspot to create a wireless connection between your phone and PC using FTP.

Step 1: Use a file manager app on your phone like Solid Explorer or FX File Explorer that supports FTP.

Step 2: Set up an FTP server on your phone by going to Settings > FTP Server within the file manager app.

Step 3: Connect your PC to the FTP server using an FTP client like WinSCP or FileZilla. Youā€™ll need to enter the FTP address provided by the app on your phone.

Step 4: Once connected, you can transfer files wirelessly.

Pros: Wireless, good for transferring large files. Cons: Requires additional setup and a network (Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection).

5. Third-Party Apps (e.g., AirDroid or ShareIt)

You can also use third-party file transfer apps that allow you to transfer large files between devices wirelessly, such as AirDroid or ShareIt. These apps often offer direct wireless connections between your PC and phone:

Step 1: Install the desired app (e.g., AirDroid or ShareIt) on both your phone and PC.

Step 2: Set up the app and connect your devices over the same Wi-Fi network.

Step 3: Use the app to select and transfer the movie files from your PC to your Samsung Galaxy S23.

Pros: Wireless, good for multiple file types. Cons: May require a stable Wi-Fi connection, can be slower than wired methods.

6. Cloud Storage (Google Drive, OneDrive, etc.)
