Hello, I have the aforementioned washer in the title, sometimes it won’t start the cycle selected. However if the drum is spun counterclockwise, close the lid, and press “Start” it will cause the cycle to start. Has anyone experienced this issue?

I’ve run it through the diagnostic mode and it worked as it should, I then also ran calibration, but it didn’t help. There are no error codes displayed.  When the load doesn’t start and I’ve made selections and it adjusts the time, during the sensing mode the number area lights go around in a circle like it’s supposed to, then once it’s done the sensing mode and stops, the time goes back to what is displayed when initially turned on and a mode is selected and no other custom setting for the cycle were selected.

Example: turn on washer select “Normal” it displays 1:20, make selections like fabric softener and it’ll increase expected load duration so say 1:40 approx, after going through sensing mode and not starting the load it’ll revert back to 1:20. Press “Start” button to stop washer spin drum counterclockwise, close lid and press “Start” cycle then starts.

Just an update for anyone with this issue, I’ve asked this question elsewhere recently and they said it’s most likely the main control board. I’ve ordered one and will try it out. If it works I’ll try to remember to post here so hopefully this will help someone else.

I replaced the board and it went through a cycle, started and completed on its own.

However, I ran a calibration and diagnostic mode, for some reason I had a pc code twice which I didn’t have before, and a bc2 code twice as well. I took it apart checked everything over again and ran the cycle. Which started and completed as it should.

I now have an issue that the washer isn’t spinning fast enough during spin cycle to get the water out of the clothes. During the diagnostic mode I noticed the agitator spinning much faster than the outer drum, so to me that rules out the motor being bad, seems like an engagement issue. I’ve asked on another forum for input as to whether it could be a worn clutch gear coupler, if that’s what it is I’ll try to come back and update again.

It does appear as though the board took care of the starting and completing cycle though.

This is the PN board I used per Samsung parts, DC92-01021Z.

So, since I had an issue with the replacement board I ordered making the what I assume was the clutch gear coupling not fully engage and make noise,  I reinstalled the old board and ordered a motor sensor and installed it. Since I had received the pc code.

I then ran the washer through the diagnostic mode, and calibration mode. The only code I received was the bc2 once, which is for a button being pushed and held so I’m going to take the top cover back off and loosen screws a bit to see if that corrects that issue which I believe it will as I did that before and it resolved that issue before, or at least I hope it corrects it again.

I then ran a load of laundry and it sensed the load and went through the full cycle. Once more loads are ran, if they complete I’ll come back and update hopefully one final time.

As a side note to this, while I was working on the washer I replaced the suspension rods.

Ok, so looks like the motor sensor didn’t fix it either. When I changed the sensor I looked at the clutch assembly and everything that I could see looked fine. I tried moving the actuator arm for the gear coupling but couldn’t.

So, I don’t know if I just didn’t move it in the correct direction or if that’s correct and you can’t manually actuate it because of the clutch motor.

I still have to spin the drum counter clockwise for the load to start.  I’m considering changing the clutch motor since it’s only a $40 part. There’s not much else that it could be, unless maybe it’s the clutch itself internally that I can’t see something is wrong.

Well it doesn’t appear to have been the motor drain clutch actuator. I’m not sure what else it could really be at this point, I’ve changed just about everything I’ve had codes for, or suggestions that were made.

It’s weird because once I get it to start one load it will usually continue to wash loads as it should and operates properly.

However if it sits for a day or so it will act the same way it did before, and then once I spin the drum counter clockwise it’ll start and then wash subsequent loads again.

Are there no Samsung engineers that check threads on the forum to offer advice/guidance?
