Hello, I have the aforementioned washer in the title, sometimes it wonโ€™t start the cycle selected. However if the drum is spun counterclockwise, close the lid, and press โ€œStartโ€ it will cause the cycle to start. Has anyone experienced this issue?

Iโ€™ve run it through the diagnostic mode and it worked as it should, I then also ran calibration, but it didnโ€™t help. There are no error codes displayed.  When the load doesnโ€™t start and Iโ€™ve made selections and it adjusts the time, during the sensing mode the number area lights go around in a circle like itโ€™s supposed to, then once itโ€™s done the sensing mode and stops, the time goes back to what is displayed when initially turned on and a mode is selected and no other custom setting for the cycle were selected.

Example: turn on washer select โ€œNormalโ€ it displays 1:20, make selections like fabric softener and itโ€™ll increase expected load duration so say 1:40 approx, after going through sensing mode and not starting the load itโ€™ll revert back to 1:20. Press โ€œStartโ€ button to stop washer spin drum counterclockwise, close lid and press โ€œStartโ€ cycle then starts.

Just an update for anyone with this issue, Iโ€™ve asked this question elsewhere recently and they said itโ€™s most likely the main control board. Iโ€™ve ordered one and will try it out. If it works Iโ€™ll try to remember to post here so hopefully this will help someone else.

I replaced the board and it went through a cycle, started and completed on its own.

However, I ran a calibration and diagnostic mode, for some reason I had a pc code twice which I didnโ€™t have before, and a bc2 code twice as well. I took it apart checked everything over again and ran the cycle. Which started and completed as it should.

I now have an issue that the washer isnโ€™t spinning fast enough during spin cycle to get the water out of the clothes. During the diagnostic mode I noticed the agitator spinning much faster than the outer drum, so to me that rules out the motor being bad, seems like an engagement issue. Iโ€™ve asked on another forum for input as to whether it could be a worn clutch gear coupler, if thatโ€™s what it is Iโ€™ll try to come back and update again.

It does appear as though the board took care of the starting and completing cycle though.

This is the PN board I used per Samsung parts, DC92-01021Z.

So, since I had an issue with the replacement board I ordered making the what I assume was the clutch gear coupling not fully engage and make noise,  I reinstalled the old board and ordered a motor sensor and installed it. Since I had received the pc code.

I then ran the washer through the diagnostic mode, and calibration mode. The only code I received was the bc2 once, which is for a button being pushed and held so Iโ€™m going to take the top cover back off and loosen screws a bit to see if that corrects that issue which I believe it will as I did that before and it resolved that issue before, or at least I hope it corrects it again.

I then ran a load of laundry and it sensed the load and went through the full cycle. Once more loads are ran, if they complete Iโ€™ll come back and update hopefully one final time.

As a side note to this, while I was working on the washer I replaced the suspension rods.

Ok, so looks like the motor sensor didnโ€™t fix it either. When I changed the sensor I looked at the clutch assembly and everything that I could see looked fine. I tried moving the actuator arm for the gear coupling but couldnโ€™t.

So, I donโ€™t know if I just didnโ€™t move it in the correct direction or if thatโ€™s correct and you canโ€™t manually actuate it because of the clutch motor.

I still have to spin the drum counter clockwise for the load to start.  Iโ€™m considering changing the clutch motor since itโ€™s only a $40 part. Thereโ€™s not much else that it could be, unless maybe itโ€™s the clutch itself internally that I canโ€™t see something is wrong.

Well it doesnโ€™t appear to have been the motor drain clutch actuator. Iโ€™m not sure what else it could really be at this point, Iโ€™ve changed just about everything Iโ€™ve had codes for, or suggestions that were made.

Itโ€™s weird because once I get it to start one load it will usually continue to wash loads as it should and operates properly.

However if it sits for a day or so it will act the same way it did before, and then once I spin the drum counter clockwise itโ€™ll start and then wash subsequent loads again.

Are there no Samsung engineers that check threads on the forum to offer advice/guidance?
