Can't open camera app

I'm having a problem with the camera app not opening.  When I try to open it I get an error saying  "cannot open, camera is being used by another app. Tried opening it in safe mode, same error. Any suggestions? Thanks

Try pulling down you quick panel notification and if you see " SENSOR " is turned on or highlighted have it turned off and camera should work. Let me know if this works for you

Also try to clear cache and/data of the camera app.

What phone are you using?

If you have a phone with OneUI 4.0, try the steps that @NoctisCaelum provided and then go into recovery mode and click repair apps.
