My feature request: add a 'faithful' mode to the camera app.
I use my phone cam to make quick shots of art works (paintings) . On my old s10e, the colors looked quite faithful to the real thing, almost as good as in the images made with my Canon R6 with a custom made camera input profile. Now I got the s25 ultra, and I was really disappointed, as the color and tone balance is quite a bit off. Turning off scene optimization and hdr does help a bit, but still, the colors are off. I notice, that when i take a raw image (pro mode), the colors in the thumbnail look much more faithful than the jpeg that the camera app produces. Unfortunately: when I edit the raw image using the built in editor, initially, I see the same faithful colors, but after a second or so the colors change to a much worse version. Maybe the app makes some 'optimization' or something. I tried several other raw editing apps, but they do more or less the same, though they look less bad. I got the best result just letting dcraw produce a jpeg using the embedded profile. The colors then look faithful to what is seen in real life. So I now made a setup where I run dcraw in termux and have that process the images on phone.
But yes, .. I didn't expect I'd have to hack my way to get good colors in images on a flagship phone. So my feature request: add a 'faithful' output mode to the camera.
