QLED and The Frame TVsI bought what I had understood is the Samsung flagship television and was very impressed but now the screen doesn’t work (sound works fine and I can make out “shadows” but the picture is otherwise black). Based on other posts I assume the motherboard has gone. Has anyone had this issue? I only bought the tv 4 1/2 years ago. Surely it shouldn’t have these reliability problems? I paid $5,500 for it… I am now paying $136 to someone from Best Buy to run diagnostics but it seems crazy to me the tv has stopped working already.

QLED and The Frame TVsYes, but don’t see why a flagship $5.5k tv should stop working after just 4.5 yrs and that should be my problem. Notwithstanding the Samsung warranty there are implied warranties under the UCC for merchantability and fitness for purpose, and I had expected better quality products from Samsung. Suffice to say unless this is sorted out this will be the last time I buy anything from them.

QLED and The Frame TVsHow many hours per day has it been on?
I agree to take a $5.5K hit is painful, but I know a lot of guys who'd see failure as an opportunity to get newer technology without having to explain to their better half.

QLED and The Frame TVsCouple of hours a day weekdays and probably 10 hours over weekends. I like the way you think but I got into enough trouble when the other half worked out how much it cost and now I’m already getting flak for buying a $5k tv that breaks after 4.5 years ; ) Hopefully it will be straightforward to repair. I’ll suspend judgment of Samsung until Weds when the repair guy comes.

QLED and The Frame TVsWell that is certainly normal usage. A guy on AVS forum had his set fail and doing the math it was clear he'd left it on all day every day, which is of course commercial-type run hours i.e. stores/malls/etc.
Things break--hopefully yours is readily fixed ie. backlight power supply or driver board.

QLED and The Frame TVsThanks pal. It’s happened after a few other things and I missed a game I really wanted to watch… Fingers crossed it will be easily fixed.
