I do hope that I am the only one that is having this challenge. And yes i have called support
I will explain. I bought my curved screen in New jersey TV 78" back when they first came out in 2014 or 15. The TV is actually fine. but .... I lived in an apartment. A new neighbor moved in across the hall. At that moment in time the TV suddenly would go up or down in volume, turn off or change channel or change source on it own. i finally figured it out due to a conversation with that person. It was his remote that was controlling my TV. He also had a Samsung TV. Eventually a battle took place between us to control the TV's. Not good! I did eventually move out to Wisconsin for other reasons. And now I live in a house with only other houses on my street.
I am now getting the same situation with it looks like two of my neighbors. One that I know has a Samsung TV. The other(s) will not admit they have any type of TV.
As I said, I did contact Samsung help. But all they could say is move the TV to another room! really? Are they kidding?
It turns out that they type of remote that Samsung TV's have are all the exact same. If I am correct they are Infrared. This goes through walls of almost any type. Now my neighbors are on both sides of me .
I am just about to start a class action suit against Samsung and the way they set up their remotes for the TV's.
This seems to be so stupid that a company would set up systems where anyone else with the same name brand can operate your TV. If this were an auto and the remote would operate any other auto in the same brand, the automaker would be sued immediately.
I am looking for good intelligent responses or solutions.
I spent (at the time) 10,000 USD on this curved screen TV. Right now I feel I have wasted my money to a certain extent. Samsung needs to come clean about this. As more people purchase a Samsung TV, it WILL be more prevalent. I do not know how they will be able to solve it. Maybe a class action suit may be the answer.
Sorry but the Samsung remote WILL go through walls. Believe me .... I know and have experienced it. And have experienced it in two different locations. Now maybe I mislabeled the remote function.
The Samsung remote WILL go through walls. Even at a distance. Samsung has to know this. They are trying to ignore the challenge.
One in an apartment building in New Jersey and again in Wisconsin in my house. In WI my neighbors have told me they have a samsung TV. They keep changing the remote to speaking or voice activated. I keep on changing it back to the pointer.
Now there is another Samsung TV in neighborhood. The reason I know this is my former neighbor is on vacation (not at home). And the TV keeps on wanting to change the channel or change the source to the internet or to games.
Like I commented I only want intelligent responses.
I am living the (in a sense) nightmare. It is no fun when you are watching a sports event and in the middle of the play the channel or source changes to something different.
Maybe Samsung did not realize that so many people would purchase their TV's and live next door to each other whether in an apartment building or just in a house in suburbia.
