LED and OLED TVsMy 77 inch S95C was a really good tv until it broke recently. It has a power issue(no stand by out light) and with it being out of warranty, the repair guy said it most likely will cost close to what a new TV costs to fix.
I just got 2 years out of it, so I'm curious what i can do with it. I paid 4k for the thing new so it'd be nice to get some kind of value back, no matter how little. Any suggestions?

LED and OLED TVsI highly doubt putting in a new power supply/led would cost any more than a couple of hundred dollars - nowhere near the cost of a new TV. Even if they needed to replace the main board, it *still* would not cost that much, even if the guy charges outrageous service rates. I'd get another estimate.
Did the guy actually come see the unit, or did you describe the issue over the phone?
Bottom line, though, if you like the TV and want to give it a new life and not contribute to ewaste, repair it; even if it does cost almost as much as a new unit. Especially if you are going to discard it and purchase another one anyway.
For example. My older, dumb Tv, is fritzing out. I know what's wrong with it. I have not gotten an estimate for repair yet, but I'm going to repair it regardless, as I do not want a Smart TV, and finding a dumb TV is next to impossible.
