Since you mentioned that the TV is completely off, does any picture show when you turn the remote on? If so, can you navigate through channels if the TV stays on? If the TV doesn't turn on then this unit will need service.

I was just watching tv and all of a sudden I heard a sound like a ballon popped and the tv is off. The sound bar still works. The outlet has power just the tv is completely off.
