My TV model (UN55DU7200DXZA) came with a remote which functioned just fine until today. Today, when I pushed the RETURN button to return to the previous channel, it returned me to the home screen instead! When I contacted customer service and spoke with a representative, she told me that the functions of the remote can (and will) be changed during updates to the software and that there was nothing that she could do to restore this capacity because the "remote was functioning properly." I was wondering if I could do a factory reset to restore this basic function to my remote. I mean, really, this is a BASIC function of any remote that I have ever owned.

When I first purchased a Samsung TV (which I never heard of) saw the Samsung Plus app. Tried it out and was pleased with the channels offered and minimal commercial interruptions at first use.

After several months/year the frequency of commercials increased, with the exact commercials played and/or program's theme songs aired - over and over. I used the Return button to minimize the aggravation and disabled Auto Software Updates in an attempt to minimize ads viewed.

Regardless of the Auto Sftwr Update setting, found it peculiar messages regarding Samsung's Privacy Policy continued to display. Then Poof! - the Return button stopped functioning. Attempted to Reset the TV and Remote to factory defaults without luck. Which brings me to conclude Samsung is more interested in brainwashing viewers to purchase products/services than providing a good customer experience.

Not sure of the masses, but the increased frequency of ads aired has a negative affect of me purchasing products/services. I would never purchase anything after having suffered thru thousands of the nonsensical commercials viewed – a la Progressive’s ("It's a Dog Park...") vs. the inane Liberty (Limu Emu) insurance campaigns. Although both companies continue these idiotic, irritating commercials touting how much consumers can save. If they cut their ads aired by 75% (less irritability and advertising cost) they could actually afford to offer lower costs to customers and may even increase their customer base.

Samsung CS states they cannot fix it?? BS.  I worked in the SW industry for 30 years. Whether they inadvertently or purposely disabled the Return function - it can be resolved.

Sorry for the rant. I will NEVER purchase a Samsung TV again.
