My refrigerator is defective! I’ve only had it for 5 years! The ice machine keeps freezing up, the refrigerator is making a loud noise, and the temperature inside of the fridge keeps changing causing everything inside to spoil. I’ve called, and was told that due to my fridge being out of warranty that I would have to pay out of pocket to get everything fixed or they can give me a $50 coupon towards a new fridge. I’m sorry but I expect a fridge to last longer than 5 years! I’m an extremely dissatisfied customer!! Samsung you could, and should do better to your customers especially for what you charge for the products!!

You may expect it to last more than 5 years, but the fact is this one apparently didn't. Naturally, because it is out of warranty, you will have to pay out of pocket for repairs. Factory warranties cover manufacturing defects, after a period of time there is no way to determine if something breaks because it was defective or because of conditions of use. This us true of any product of any brand. The ice maker can be defrosted with a blow dryer, the rattle is probably something minor like ice on a fan. The temperature fluctuations are probably due to a bad thermostat or thermister. You will not know until you get it checked out. For argument's sake, even if there was still a warranty, you would pay labor charges. Your sealed refrigeration parts, compressor and condensor, should be warranteed for 10 years. Again, labor costs would apply. Move your refrigerator away from the wall and vacuum the coils. This may help with the temperature issues.
