Home TheaterSince the update, the soundbar is unresponsive and can't be reset.
Seems like quite a few people with the issue
Solved! Go to Solution.

Home TheaterSame thing happened to me last night. Have had this for 6 months now. Hoping an update will come out to fix this as shipping this back would be extremely difficult for me.

Home TheaterHow dumb can Samsung be?
If it wasn't already enough the constant delays with the updates to smartphones, now this?!
Honestly, sometimes it seems an amateur company!
And their "solutions" are usually great: Take it (or ship it) to your nearest Samsung authorised repair center. You will spend precious time and money with either option but that's your problem, not ours...
Fortunately I found about it while on v1016.0, and I already went to:
"SmartThings -> Soundbar -> Info" and turned off auto updates.
Since when Samsung "decides" to mess up things they done it pretty badly, I even went to:
"SmartThings -> Menu -> SmartThings Settings" and turned off "Auto update devices and services".
Now let's see how long will I have to keep the updates to the soundbar and to my SmartThings hub and devices, turned off.

Home TheaterThis is just unbelievable, that a manufacturer can just make your device unusable with a single update.
I hope that they will come up with a solution that we can perform at home. As with all people here, shipping this thing back is extremely difficult.

Home TheaterI've just sent my device to Samsung for Repair. There is no way there would be another fix since the device isn't even able to be updated anymore.

Home TheaterThats what im thinking too but hopefully the ones who are waiting it out are able to get an update and be able to use it without sending it in. I hurried up and sent mine in hopes with all these problems they don't get slammed and im waiting months to get mine back

Home TheaterYeah but you don't know for sure if they don't know some backdoor way with usb firmware, to make the bar respond to it.
We'll have to wait and see.

Home TheaterMy 6-month old Q990D ran into this same issue after 1020.7 firmware update. A few days ago, I opened a case with Samsung Tech Support and they asked me to ship the soundbar only to "Samsung Repair Center (Techeim, Inc), 5 N Corporate Drive, Riverdale, NJ 07457. According to the "Repair Statement" email message I received from Samsung, the Repair Center replaced the main printed circuit board (PCB) part# AH94-03964A

Samsung can kiss their own backside if theyโre expecting consumers to be inconveniently taking their own item back, when some consumers have their warranty still intact. Furthermore, Iโm sure theyโre breaching their own terms and conditions, where part of the agreement of their devices is to be โalways onโ to the internet.
Q800D, working fine 3 days ago. Now this!!!
