Unable to back up Galaxy watches manually on One UI 5, backs up via Smart Switch

Why in the world would you take away the ability to back up our watches manually in the Wearable app? Make it make sense, I have to wait for what is now "PERIODICALLY" to back up my watch, how often is periodically? If you switch to store backups to Samsung Cloud, how does that work, when does that happen?

If anyone knows the answer please let me know!

Hey yall!

My watch stopped backing up back in May and I have no idea why... wifi is good, it's signed into my samsung account, it's connected to my phone

I did notice that in the "devices" section of my samsing account, I don't see my watch at all. Even though in my watch settings, I see that I'm logged in. 

Please help

Like the OP mine stopped in May as well, but I have had the SmartSwitch app on my phone entire time...I think it's a default app..

States that it should be back up automatically with smart switch every 24 hours, but that's not the case. 

I'm also supposed to give permission in smart switch and it just ask me is the phone receiving or transferring. Nothing about watch.

On my watch when I went to "accounts and backup" on the watch settings, if you scroll down it had a little link to "on your phone set backups to be saved to Samsung cloud" I clicked the link and it opened the setting on my phone about the watch backup. Mine was turned off. Hoping it'll backup over night now. I'll keep you posted. You might try that though.

That was already on. Battery nearly full on both devices.

Mine didn't work either. Wondering if ANYone has gotten a successful backup.
