Since there are multiple people having a hard time getting their Watch 7 for kids activating the LTE line on Verizon, I am trying to have an idea of how many people are affected and trying to make sure Verizon is not downplaying this issue.

The situation is as follows: I got a Galaxy Watch 7 LTE 40mm for my son. The watch needs to have a stand alone line so I can control where he is, and he can send and receive calls and messages on his watch.

When following the wearable wizard (and google one) it sets up the watch without a problem except when reaching the part to setup the mobile line.

No matter what we tried with the Verizon technician, the wizard always keep saying that there is no compatible line for the watch.

The error message: "Verizon doesn't offer any mobile plans that will work with your child's watch"

There are not many options from the phone (setting up through a S22 Ultra), and there are definitely no settings on the watch.

So it comes down to a problem between Verizon and Samsung. Either Samsung app is sending the wrong string to Verizon to register it, or Verizon is not sending the correct answer to the watch.

Even one of the Verizon tech suggested that the Watch 7 was incompatible with Verizon network (which is ridiculous as the package and documentation on the website shows the Verizon logo support).

So setting this post to get an idea of how many people are affected and to check if anybody had any luck activating the LTE stand alone line on these watches.

You state this in your comments ( The error message: "Verizon doesn't offer any mobile plans that will work with your child's watch") It would appear Verizon does not have plans that will work with your watch.

That is not true since Verizon themselves have a link with instructions on how to set it up the LTE plan with the watch. It is just that doesn't work.

As a follow up. 1) verizon never got it working as a stand-alone. 2) we end up getting a phone with a line, then pairing the watch with the phone. That worked and my son can make phone calls and text message however 3) if not configure as stand alone, the find me/location does not work (even when the LTE is active and the phone can use location information). Basically unless the watch is WITH the phone, the watch will not show up the location on the map for tracking. This is a huge problem. For now, I end up giving my son an android tag so I can track him on the map, but it is sad to see how Verizon and Samsung lie in your face when they talk about the watch on LTE being a true stand alone device. So, i am thinking of giving a try on an apple watch to see if that works. But in terms of Samsung, a complete disappointment.
