When you open a message notification on your watch it goes into this wired view where you can see it and respond but it doesn't open the message app, you have to scroll all the way down to tap open in message which should be default

Isn't it the same on the phone? When messages notification comes in, I tap on the banner and can read the message and reply. It doesn't enter the messages app as it provides a quick way of replying.

No, you're talking about expanding the notification on the phone

On the phone you can reply to a message from notification shade without entering messages app. So my Galaxy Watch 7 is doing the same thing.

No that's not true on you're phone when you tap on the notification it opens it in the app

When on the phone, messages app doesn't open when I want to reply via notification. I have Galaxy S23 with OneUI 8

Like I said when you tap "reply" on the notification it allows you to reply without opening the app but when you tap on the notification it it opens the app

And the feature you're talking about is to be able to respond without having to leave the app, its not the same on the watch
